This is a report on the panel from the Social Ontology 2023 conference in Stockholm. Five philosophers were invited by the conference organizers to discuss the methods of social ontology, where the field is heading, and where they would like it to be heading. The views expressed in the panel introductory text and those of the panelists are the author’s. The Journal of Social Ontology does not take a stand on these questions but serves as a venue for this interesting debate.
